MIDDIES COACHING STAFF

Kevin Stone

This is Kevin's thirteenth year as a Middies coach.  He is the Head Age-Group coach, runs our Gold 1 Team, coaches Senior swimmers, works with the Silver Team and assists with Senior III and Bronze groups. 

Kevin coached in the Westchester County Swim Conference from 1990 to 2004.  From 1996 to 2004 he was the head coach at the Coveleigh Club where  his team won four consecutive County & Conference titles. Kevin was named Conference Coach of the Year in 1996.  After 2004, Kevin retired from summer league coaching to increase his focus with the Middies.  Kevin has coached at USS Zone Distance Camps in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., he was an assistant coach at a Metropolitan / Connecticut Age-Group Camp and has traveled to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado to coach at National Select Camps.  He has achieved level 3 recognition from the American Swim Coaches Association and is working toward level 4. 

Kevin's swimmers have achieved numerous National Age-Group Top 16 rankings, been YWCA National champions and Metro Junior Olympic champions - short course and long course - and he has regularly placed swimmers on the Metropolitan Zone Teams. In 2001, Kevin was awarded the Metropolitan Age-Group Coach of the Year by the American Swim Coaches Association.

Kevin was a Middies swimmer from 1988 to 1990.  He then attended Principia College in Illinois.  He swam in high school and college and was captain of each team during his senior year.  He also played water polo for Hudson Valley in the Empire State Games from 1988 to 1992.

In addition to coaching, Kevin is the computer teacher for grades 5 - 8 at Good Counsel Elementary School in White Plains.
