Ilan Noach

Our Head Coach, Ilan Noach, is beginning his twenty-third year with the Middies Swim Team.  He was previously the Head Coach of the Yorktown High School Boys Swim Team for five years where he was twice selected as the New York State Section I "Coach of the Year" in 1982 and 1984.  Concurrently, Ilan coached an age-group program in Yorktown, New York for eight years, and the summer team at the Windmill Club in Armonk, New York for nine years (1980-1988). 

In August 1984, Ilan came to Middies.  That first year there were about 75 B-C level swimmers.  Since then, the team has grown to over 200 swimmers from novice swimmers to Olympic Trial Qualifiers.  During the past twenty two years, Ilan has coached Middies swimmers to numerous successes at all age-group levels; County Champions, Metropolitan Junior Olympic Champions, Eastern Zone Champions, YWCA National Champions, New York State High School Champions, High School All-Americans, Empire State Game Gold Medalists, NAG Top 16 individual and NAG Top 10 Rankings (including several #1 rankings), Region I Finalists and Champions, Junior National Finalists and Champions, Senior National Qualifiers, Olympic Festival Participants and Olympic Trial Qualifiers. In 2004, Ilan coached his first Olympic Games Qualifier. He attended the Olympics in Athens as a member of the Philippines coaching staff.  Under Ilan's leadership the Middies have won 20 consecutive YWCA National Titles!

Ilan's achievements and his reputation of success with his Middies Team have been nationally recognized by his twice being chosen as the ASCA Metropolitan Age-Group Coach of the Year in 1988 and 1989. He has achieved level 5, the highest achievement, in ASCA as both a senior and age-group coach.

United States Swimming has recognized Ilan's achievements and success by appointing him the head coach of National Zone Distance Camps and National Select Camps, and by inviting him to the Olympic Development Camps.

Ilan's coaching abilities are well documented and his varied and successful swimming background has contributed to his Middies swimmers all-around achievements.

Ilan lives in White Plains with his wife, Barbara, and his children, Kees, Erika and Rachel.
